The bank will allow customers to delay debt payments up to a year, Apirom Sukprasert, president of the state-owned bank said on Saturday. Those farmers who insured against severe floods with the bank, will each get compensation worth Bt1,260 per rai. Bank staffs across the northern and northeastern provinces will make field trips to assess the farm damage caused by severe flooding, Apirom said. For immediate support, the BAAC will give bags of necessities to flood victims and is fixing their ATM machines affected by the floods. When the floods have ended, the bank would also provide job training for those affected, he added.
