An advisory council established to implement a review of the Ministry of Children and Family Development has been denounced by the First Nations Leadership Council and B.C. "However, what is ultimately put into the plan will reflect research and consultation well beyond the Plecas report. In a written statement, the Ministry said the advisory panel would "develop a multi-year plan to strengthen B.C. "The Plecas report is a valuable planning tool we will use in putting together our multi-year plan," the MCFD said in a statement. In December former deputy minister Bob Plecas issued a controversial report into the current state of child protection in B.C.
