It's been 50 years since the Royal Commission on the Status of Women recommended national child care. Though some do qualify for the subsidized care and the limited $10-a-day child care initiative, for many it's not just the cost of child care that's the issue, but also the lack of space. Many need training and credentials to work here but without child care they miss out on opportunities and much needed wages.
