Electronic collars, also known as shock collars or e-collars, are a big no-no when training dogs, according to the B.C. "It's a common tool that people end up reaching for, and we find that a lot of pet owners are really not aware of the risks of using a tool like that," said Karen van Haaften, B.C. "There is no level of a shock collar that is not uncomfortable for the dogs," van Haaften told Radio West host Sarah Penton. Shock collars are worn by dogs to deliver a electronic shock when the dog misbehaves. Several countries in Europe have banned the use of shock collars.
