B.C. Lions feed off Edmonton Eskimos practice squad

No harm, no foul as far as the Edmonton Eskimos are concerned. Having a player plucked off their practice roster on opening week of the 2019 Canadian Football League regular season is all part of the game, said head coach Jason Maas. Lions were well within their right to scoop up Eskimos centre Jean-Simon Roy, a second-round (14th overall) draft pick by Edmonton in 2017, who came up for grabs when he was placed on Edmonton’s practice squad coming out of training camp on the weekend. “It is what it is, he had an opportunity to go somewhere else to be on the roster, which wouldn’t be the case here for him,” said Eskimos head coach Jason Maas. Other teams are allowed to do it, so it’s up to the player if they want to leave.
