B.C. Ferries to suspend half its service amid coronavirus crisis


Ferries between Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and Nanaimo will be cancelled completely. “It’s clear we need to match service levels to the current demand,” said BC Ferries CEO Mark Collins in a Friday staff announcement obtained by the Star. Service between Tsawwassen and Duke Point and Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay will operate four round trips per day, with four additional cargo-only trips to Duke Point. All service is suspended between Horseshoe Bay and Nanaimo, as well as between Mill Bay and Brentwood Bay. The Long HarbourThe Sunshine Coast service between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale will continue running six time a day, while the northern routes will operate on BC Ferries’ winter schedule.
