Pandemic boosted Ayurvedic exportsLocal industry to partner int’l insurance companiesAuthentic Sri Lankan Ayurvedic Centres are set to be established overseas as a measure taken to boost the productivity of the indigenous medicine (Ayurvedic) sector. In addition, this measure was also taken to transform the indigenous medicine sector to be self-sufficient in order to ban indigenous medicine imports. As the first approach to boost indigenous medicine exports, the ministry is planning on having discussions with relevant ambassadors to establish Authentic indigenous medicine Centers overseas. “These centres will include products under the category of Authentic Sri Lankan Indigenous Products where centers will have a variety of Authentic Ayurvedic Sri Lankan products,” They added. The ministry of promotion of indigenous medicine, development of Rural Ayurvedic Hospitals, and Community Health has reportedly established a new research Unit for the indigenous medicine (Ayurvedic) sector.
