Awiti said nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro is the prime suspect in the propaganda war. This is after she began calls for joint nominations in Mombasa when she attended the Governor’s Award Programme hosted by Joho on Saturday. Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has denied claims he is planning to ditch Cord for Jubilee. He said he will vie for Mombasa governor against incumbent Hassan Joho (ODM) and Senator Hassan Omar (Wiper). Later that Saturday, Cord leader Raila Odinga said the three co-principals are in talks over the possibility of joint nominations in Nairobi and Mombasa to maintain Cord unity and avoid a fallout.
