The ruling party also set a target of generating 28,000MW of electricity and positioning 23,000km of power transmission lines across the country by 2023. These pledges were announced by Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as she delivered her speech to unveil Awami League’s Special Pledge Manifesto on Tuesday. If Awami league wins the 11th parliamentary election, it will establish two energy hubs in Matarbari area of Maheshkhali and Payra, the party vowed. The manifesto-unveiling event was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, in Dhaka, on Tuesday.
