The deceased is Pikul Biswas, 40, general secretary of upazila Awami League and son of the late Jalil Biswas. He was also the younger brother of Pangsha Upazila Parishad (UP) Chairman Ajmal Ahal. Pikul was on his way home when he was shot and hacked by unidentified assailants. He was first admitted to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
