Awami League President and Prime Minister Hasina formally inaugurated the National Council by hoisting the national flag and the party flag to the rendering of the national anthem. All eyes are on the grand old party, the new leadership of which will emerge after two days of intense deliberations. The much-talked issue ahead of the council is over who will be the general secretary--whether Syed Ashraful Islam will be retained or replaced. Speculations are also rife about changes in the party's policy making presidium council, national committee and executive committee. Nobody other than the prime minister and myself are aware about what is going to happen.
