Avery Fisher Artist Program Announces 2021 Career Grants To Young Cellists, Violinists And Pianist

The Avery Fisher Artist Program—established in 1974 to help young artists—has announced its 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grants. Violinist Anne Akiko Meyers received the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1993, at the age of 23. The 2021 Career Grants continue a long-standing philanthropic tradition started by the late Avery Fisher. This year’s announcement marks the 45th time that WQXR, a broadcast partner of these festivities since the first Career Grants were awarded in 1976, hosted these awards. The Avery Fisher Artist Program was established by the late Avery Fisher as part of a major gift to Lincoln Center in 1974.
