In three weeks, Marvel Studios' 11-year multi-franchise story arc comes to an end when Avengers: Endgame takes control of the global box office. I believe Endgame will soar past that impressive figure, to approach a possible mind-blowing $900 million opening. Several theater and ticket websites crashed Tuesday due to massive volume of traffic, as people furiously gobbled up Avengers: Endgame advance tickets. Last year, Avengers: Infinity War tracking suggested a high-end domestic opening estimate of $225 million. Even an unlikely (based on an $890+ million opening) 3x multiplier for Endgame would only get it to $2.67 billion, or $110 million behind Avatar.
