This weekend pushed the latest Avengers film to $2.765 billion worldwide, just $24 million short of Avatar's $2.79 total in 2009. This weekend, Avengers upped its theater count from 985 to 2,025, increasing its weekend gross by 207% over the previous weekend at $6.1 million. In terms of all-time domestic gross, it remains unlikely that Avengers: Endgame will ever catch Stars Wars: The Force Awakens at $936.7 million. If we account for ticket price inflation, Avatar's lead over Avengers: Endgame stretches to $34.9 million.
