Autistic Cambodian girl, four, drowns in a pond at Texas Buddhist temple

A four-year-old autistic Cambodian girl has drowned after falling into a pond at a Buddhist temple in Texas after slipping out of a ceremony in the temple unnoticed to enter the water. The child, who has not been named, had gone to the Wat Angkorchum Cambodian Buddhist Temple in Houston, Texas, with her mother on Sunday. As her mother and other worshipers were inside, the girl wandered out of the temple and down the steps to make her way towards the pond. This is the man-made pond the girl drowned in on Sunday after wandering out of the temple. There were confused reports initially that the girl was part of a 'class' and that she'd fallen into a man-made well.
