Author's children's book hits the shelves


Author Simon Taylor at Manawatū People's Radio where he is reading and recording his children’s books. He discovered few children’s books featured characters of black or minority ethnicities, and decided to create a character where he withheld information about physical attributes related to race. Taylor had written and published seven children's fantasy books, for children ranging from 7-12 years old, over the last six years. His recordings, with all the character’s voices, will be played on Manawatū People’s Radio. People could listen to the book on Saturdays at 9am or Thursdays at 4.30pm on Manawatū People’s Radio, or online.
