A 52-year-old tourist from Austria has been killed in an avalanche north of Revelstoke, B.C. The man was with a heli-skiing outfit about 100 kilometres north of Revelstoke in the North Columbia region of east-central British Columbia. Avalanche Canada currently lists the avalanche risk in that region as considerable at the treeline and above. The risk evaluation means dangerous avalanche conditions exist, natural avalanches are possible and human-triggered slides are likely.
