Australian cricket great Ricky Ponting has continued the attacks on New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner, labelling him "unselectable" for the third test in Sydney. Santner was again ineffective as Australia took control of the second test in Melbourne, amassing 467 in their first innings and having the Black Caps 44-2 at stumps at the end of the second day. Just has he failed to do in the opening test in Perth, Santner again couldn't take an Australian wicket on the MCG. Ponting felt New Zealand would be better off with leg-spinner Todd Astle in their mix moving forward.
