First One Day International: Australia 294-9 (G Maxwell 77, M Marsh 73; M Wood 3-54, J Archer 3-57) beat England 275-9 (S Billings 118, J Bairstow 84; A Zampa 4-55, J Hazelwood 3-26) by 19 runs. From 57 for four, Billings and Bairstow began to fight back, adding 113 in 19 overs. Australia had gone into the match without Steve Smith, the master batsman having been struck on the head in the nets 24 hours earlier. And with Chris Woakes removing Zampa caught and bowled in the 50th, England had seemingly limited the damage. But Starc launched the final ball of the innings for six, giving Australia a little boost before Hazlewood took charge.
