Aurora apologises for Cromwell power cut

Aurora Energy has apologised for a power cut that affected 1600 customers in Cromwell last night. ‘‘We understand the inconvenience and disruption unplanned outages can cause.’’The firm’s crews had worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore power, she said. About 6.50pm yesterday, power had ‘‘tripped to 1,600 customers in Cromwell, following a cable fault in the area’’. Crews worked through the night to carry out repairs, and power had been restored to most customers by 1.15am today. A power outage that had been planned in Cromwell for today had been cancelled, and the planned work had been carried out on Wednesday night to minimise the impact on affected customers.
