Invercargill Licensing Trust chief executive Chris Ramsay says the trust was bouncing back, until alert level 2 struck again. Some event organisers had rebooked, but many were “holding fire” until they had more clarity on alert levels in the future. Ramsay said it had discovered during the past few months that it could break even at alert level 2, but would lose money in alert level 3 or higher. “We’re keen to stay at alert level 1 as far as possible,” he said. The flights had been suspended while Auckland was in alert level 3.
