The former tennis court on Northcote’s Ocean View Rd has magnificent views of the Waitematā Harbour and Auckland City skyline. An old Auckland tennis court has become a winner at auction, selling for $2.21 million. The 1012-square-metre plot of land was purchased by Raymond Russell for £500 in 1956, his daughter Michelle Russell told Stuff. Raymond Russell then built a tennis court on the land, which sat next door to the family home. Michelle Russell said she planned to spend money from the sale to upgrade and “modernise” her North Shore home.
