Emergency services rushed to the scene on Auckland's North Shore after the attack started in Murrays Bay before continuing to Mairangi Bay. "Emergency services are in attendance at an incident in Murrays Bay where a number of people are understood to have sustained injuries," a police spokeswoman said. Another eye witness said that the attack took place in Murrays Bay and then Mairangi Bay. A local resident in Mairangi Bay claimed he saw “quite a few police” in the area. He added: “I saw three or four passing by here towards Murrays Bay and an ambulance as well."
