A would-be customer at an Auckland eatery was shocked when the establishment responded to her request for vegan food by telling her they could offer her "cardboard". The woman, who Stuff has chosen not to name, approached HeadQuarters in Auckland's viaduct through Facebook, asking if they serve vegan food. "We can offer you the menu, it's cardboard, should taste like 97 per cent of vegan food, you could eat that maybe. But then came the clincher, a reference to the restaurant's pet food, which was also available.
