Evie, an English staffordshire cross, is believed to have been stolen from her owner's front lawn in a brazen daylight theft on Christmas day. An Auckland family say their Christmas celebrations were ruined after their dog was allegedly stolen from their front yard. Nine-year-old English staffordshire cross Evie was allegedly taken from owner Leigh Cole's front lawn on Melansia Rd in St Heliers about 2.45pm on Christmas day. "This has been a tragedy for our family and has ruined our Christmas celebrations," she said. Given the other dogs with Evie at the time were poodle-crosses, Taylor believed she may have been taken for dog fighting purposes.
