Auckland dairies are selling cut-price cigarettes imported and distributed by gangs as part of a vast and growing tobacco black market. The packets of 20 cigarettes retail for about $20, just under $10 cheaper than the cheapest legal brand. JASON DORDAY/Stuff A packet of Double Happiness cigarettes, smuggled into the country from China and sold to a Stuff reporter. Stuff has chosen not to name the shop, due to risks the owner and staff could face from the organised crime groups who supply the smuggled cigarettes. Those organised crime groups are using the same supply lines employed for methamphetamine to bring in illicit cigarettes, he said.
