Winter pressures, staff shortages and ongoing strike action have led to a $13 million overspend at Auckland District Health Board. The cost of new collective agreements were a major strain on the DHB's budget this year. Auckland DHB has been able to "partially mitigate" extra costs and lost revenues through "careful management" across the DHB, the spokeswoman said. Auckland DHB's 2017/18 budget was $2.2 billion.
