more-inThe State government will prepare an attractive pension scheme for Non-Resident Keralites (NoRKs) in association with the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, Finance Minister T.M. There were criticisms that the scheme was unattractive and the government would draw up a scheme to give an attractive pension to those making a higher contribution to the welfare fund. Additional pensionNoRKs joining the Pravasi Chitti Scheme could deposit their chitti amount in the welfare fund for getting an additional pension. A scheme to this effect had been worked out in association with the LIC, he said. The total budgetary allocation for various schemes for NoRKs for the next financial year was ₹80 crore, he said.
