Cambrian College in Sudbury is offering a new course in chemical engineering that will incorporate increased hands-on experience. Starting in September, the new two-year Chemical Engineering Technician program is the result of consultation with industry experts before creating the program. While Cambrian already has a three-year Chemical Engineering Technology Advanced diploma program, it was found to be missing a key component. “This program will allow us to produce graduates with high levels of theory and extensive hands-on practical training,” he said. There has been a reported nine per cent increase in demand for chemical engineering technicians.
