Police have laid attempted murder charges against a St. John's man, after he allegedly tried to poison a woman in hospital in January. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said Tuesday that Mark Rumbolt, a 56-year-old man from St. John's, has been charged with attempted murder and administering "a noxious thing" in relation to the January incident. Police allege that Rumbolt tried to harm the woman in a hospital on Jan. 22. Rumbolt and the woman were brought to hospital together, following an incident in a home in the west end of St. John's that day. On Tuesday, the RNC`s major crime unit arrested and charged Rumbolt, who will appear again in Provincial Court Wednesday morning.
