During the briefing, Dr Kamal described several attacks on ‘paddy sheaf candidates’ including shooting incidents. Dr Kamal, who heads the Gono Forum, has been leading the opposition campaigning against his former political party, the ruling Awami League, with BNP by his side. Oikya Front leaders have been accusing the ruling party of using violence since the beginning of their campaign. “There is definitely a fear that the polls will not be held free and fair. I don’t want to comment on that.” he said, when asked about allegations made by the ruling party leaders.
