The ongoing attacks on Kiambu Governor William Kabogo over his recent statement that Central Kenya's support for Deputy President William Ruto is not guaranteed are unnecessary. Ruto is preparing the battlefield and choosing his 2022 opponents using the truncation model and Governor Kabogo should know this. The governor should know the Kikuyu community couldn't produce a presidential candidate alone without the support of other Kenyans. The governor has spoken his mind and it is his constitutional and democratic right to speak without any intimidation. Kabogo should know that Ruto is someone who is always conversant with the politics of Central Kenya and will be the last person to be entirely depending on them for his political survival.
