Speaking after a meeting with public officials and Asian American leaders in Atlanta, President Biden and Vice President Harris denounced Tuesday’s mass shooting that killed eight people — six of them of Asian descent — as well as the rise in hate crimes and discrimination against Asian Americans. “A harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us. Biden said the Department of Justice would be strengthening its partnership with the AAPI community to prevent hate crimes, and called on Congress to pass the Covid-19 Hate Crimes Act. “Hate and violence often hide in plain sight and are so often met with silence. And it’s on all of us, all of us together to make it stop.”
