Athi River AP commander Stephen Matu was among several people injured in demonstrations against the election on Thursday. Matu was hit with a stone on the right eye in Athi River town, Machakos county, where two people were reportedly shot dead and others wounded"Those people hit me with a stone during the skirmishes. Mavoko returning officer Samuel Chacha said voting at Makadara Social Hall, Imani ECD Centre and Athi River Primary School was unaffected though NASA supporters attempted to storm in.
