At least it’s over: Rashid Irani reviews Maze Runner - The Death Cure

MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE Direction: Wes BallActors: Dylan O’Brien, Kaya ScodelarioRating: 1.5 / 5The third and hopefully last installment in a series based on the trilogy of young adult novels, …The Death Cure plunges a close-knit group of teenagers into the thick of action from the get-go. Director Wes Ball, who also helmed the first two chapters, once again focuses on bombastic action at the expense of character development. Under the circumstances, the actors — including the ever-dependable Patricia Clarkson, reprising her role of an idealistic scientist — have little to do but look fretful. The long-drawn-out finale with its eye-wearying camerawork (in 3D, no less) and choppy editing just further muddles an already sloppy narrative. Thankfully, there’s no threat of another edition anytime soon.
