At least 60 poachers arrested,leopard skin recovered in Jharkhand, two other statesThe wild life in forest areas of three neighbouring states in Eastern India have a common threat from organised gangs of poachers. This became apparent after a forest officers of Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh in a joint operation nabbed a total of 61 people allegedly involved in wildlife crimes. They were arrested during a joint operation carried out by forest officers in these states between November, 2025 and January 20,” a senior official is quoted by The Hindu as having said. The same report based on statement of Deputy Director of Palamu Tiger Reserve Prajesh Jena said that “the operation was conducted in protected areas of the three States.”Jena said the teams also recovered poisonous snake venom, deer and leopard skin, and around 60 kg of pangolin scales, besides three country-made firearms, during the drive.
