Many of the victims were left trapped under the wreckage after the merry-go-round broke suddenly. Emergency services dashed to San José de la Rinconada fair in La Rinconada, near Seville in Spain. Another woman was severely wounded and also taken by helicopter to a hospital in Seville at around 2am. The attraction, which belongs to the Mundopark fair, was built in 2001, and had passed all the required safety inspections, according to the Spanish press. The same sources requested assistance for several injured people.
