At least 22 injured after train derails in RussiaMOSCOW, April 3, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - At least 22 people were injured after a train derailed in Russia's region of Ulyanovsk, local authorities said on Friday, adding that no one died in the accident. Seven carriages of the train went off the rails in the region around 900 kilometres (560 miles) east of Moscow. The train was travelling from the city of Chelyabinsk in the Urals to capital Moscow, Ulyanovsk's regional governor Alexei Russkikh said. "There are no fatalities," Chelyabinsk region governor Alexei Teksler said on Telegram, adding that at least 22 people were injured. The train was carrying 412 passengers, according to an official from the Russian Railways (RZD) quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency.
