Nine of the dead were found at a flooded home for the elderly, said officials in Iwate prefecture in northern Japan, while two were found elsewhere in the prefecture. Local train lines in northern Japan were disrupted due to the typhoon, though Shinkansen bullet trains heading north resumed operations. Lionrock crossed northern Japan Tuesday night, becoming the season’s fourth typhoon to make landfall in the country.
