NEW DELHI: Shares of Astral Poly Technik surged as much as 7.3 per cent in early trade on Tuesday after the company reported a 54.12 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 32.35 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 from Rs 20.99 crore reported for the corresponding quarter last year.Total income from operations jumped 11.78 per cent year-on-year to Rs 450.01 crore in Q3 of FY17 compared with Rs 402.57 crore reported for Q3 of FY16.The scrip was trading 4.54 per cent higher at Rs 433.95 at around 9.40 am (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 440 and touched a high and low of Rs 445.40 and Rs 429.75, respectively in the first hour of trade. Benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 42.35 points, or 0.15 per cent, up at 28,396 around the same time.On BSE, 7,986 shares changed hands on the counter against a two-week average daily volume of 39,000 shares in the.Shares of the company had touched a fresh 52-week high of Rs 526.35 on July 27, 2016 and a fresh 52-week low of Rs 334.05 on February 29, 2016.For the October-December period, the company reported an operating profit of Rs 50.14 crore, up 70.08 per cent YoY, against Rs 29.48 crore reported for the same quarter last year.
