The AstraZeneca trial was 70 percent effective overall, with up to 90 percent efficacy in a smaller group that got a lower dosage. ADBritain has preordered 100 million doses — which at a dose and a half per person would cover most of its population. The AstraZeneca results have yet to be peer-reviewed or published, and outside scientists said that much depended on seeing those in detail. By the spring, the company and its global partners in Brazil, India, Russia and the United States could be producing 100 million to 200 million doses a month.
