The Council, which is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring coordination, development and welfare of the Muslim communities in the Assin South District, has representatives from the three main Muslim sects namely Ahmadiyya, Ahlusunna and Tijaniyya. The nine-member Council has Sheikh Mustapha Adam Suleyman, Assin South Chief Imam of the Ahlusunna as its Chairman with Mr Issah Adam Cann, Assin South President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission as secretary. The rest of the members are Mallam Nuhu Ahmed, Assin South Chief Imam of the Tijaniyya, Saani Ibrahim, Ibrahim Nkansa, Imam Nuhu Adam, Harrison Ibrahim, Seidu Zakari and Alhassan Agyei Alock.
