Politics of Wednesday, 3 July 2024Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended the Central Regional Chairman, Professor Richard Asiedu, with immediate effect. This decision comes in the wake of a meeting held on July 2, 2024, which focused on the withdrawal of the Assin Central parliamentary candidate, Shaibu Migyimah, over alleged amorous relations with the wife of the constituency General Secretary, Sadique Broni. Additionally, the Constituency Secretary, Sadique Broni, has also been suspended for one month and will face the National Disciplinary Committee on similar charges of anti-party conduct. Earlier, the Central Regional branch of the NDC withdrew Migyimah's candidacy, citing immoral acts and anti-party activities. However, the FEC's recent meeting overturned this decision, maintaining Migyimah as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Assin Central.
