Amid the chaos surrounding the online assessment of answer booklets, the University of Mumbai (MU) on Monday decided to reduce the fees charged for re-evaluation and providing photocopies of answer sheets. Students will now have to pay Rs250 and Rs50 for re-evaluation and photocopies. The decision comes after a few students’ organisations asked the varsity to reduce the fees. However, the varsity officials said the fees was reduced due to lower cost of re-evaluation and photocopying under the new onscreen marking system. “Due to onscreen assessment, the university will no longer have to separately spend on photocopying of answer sheets.
