I've been writing about financial and consumer protection for decades. President Trump and the GOP majority want to incinerate some of the most important investor and consumer protection laws. Here's my short list of how the GOP and Trump are pursing their assault on average Americans:-- Carving up 401(k) limits. Would other retirement plans be offered to allow Americans -- most of whom are undersaving -- to sock away more? Wall Street, of course, despised the idea of consumer protection and marshaled its army of lobbyists.
