A woman was beaten nearly senseless in Dhing, a small village in Assam's Nagaon district. Sources say she had committed some small offence, after which village leaders convened and decided that she should be beaten. In a video that is going viral, a man twice the size of the frail woman is seen holding a bunch of canes in his hand, with which he repeatedly hits her on her legs. After a few strikes, the woman collapses to the ground. The woman had to then be carried off.
