But right now it feels like I’m not really part of the group and I don’t know why not. Like being a partner, or an employee, being “a good friend” is often more a matter of finding a match than of absolute values of “good friend”-ness. Or, your friend group might just need some translation assistance. Another question: if you don’t have a bestie in the group, how are people finding out about what’s happening? When you’re the one who needs something, your friend group might just be... unmoored.
