Asian Championships: We made too many unforced errors, says Aaron Chia

2 men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik denied that pressure as Malaysia’s last remaining representatives in the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships led to their defeat on Friday (April 10). Instead, Aaron-Wooi Yik admitted that too many unforced errors cost them the match against South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Ki Dong-ju. The tie turned into a gruelling 83-minute battle at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre before Aaron-Wooi Yik fell 19-21, 28-26, 13-21 to the Korean pair. Earlier, women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah were also eliminated in the quarter-finals after going down 13-21, 15-21 to China’s Li Yijing-Luo Xumin in 41 minutes. The result means Malaysia return empty-handed from the Asian Championships for the first time since 2019.
