ASHLAND – A man was tracked down through the woods and bitten by Ashland's police dog Ajax on Monday after a chase that went into two communities, authorities said. Smith got out of the car and ran into the woods near Concord and Raymond Marchetti streets, Alberini said. He refused to come out of the woods, and Alberini and Ajax went in and tracked him. Alberini said police were searching the woods on Tuesday because Smith was alone and could have ditched the gun.
