SINGAPORE: Swimmer Kevin Yeap delivered Malaysia's first gold medal at the Asean University Games (AUG) with a commanding performance in the men's 1,500m freestyle event today. Erika Kong notched Malaysia's second gold via the women's 100m breastroke which she won in a time of 1:12.85s. In what is his final appearance at the AUG, Kevin comfortably won the 1,500m men's freestyle event in a new games record time of 15:45.63 seconds at the OCBC Aquatics Centre. It was a productive outing for Malaysia at the pool with national swimmers delivering two gold, two silver and a bronze. The 27-year-old, who will be over-aged for the under-28 competition in 2018, has won the 1,500m gold at every edition of the AUG since making his games debut in 2008.
